An interesting game in Buffalo Tuesday brought the Jets longest road trip of the season to an end. The Jets jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Mark Floods second in four games, and Bryan Littles first of the year. Flood jumped into the play, took a great pass from Tanner Glass and beat Ryan Miller. Just over a minute later, Little buried a Blake Wheeler pass and the boo birds were out, giving it to Miller. Millers list of accomplishments from college to the AHL to the NHL and the Olympics is very impressive, and even after a good start to the season, a couple of rough outings has the fans unhappy. With the 2-0 lead, the penalty trouble started, and when all was said and done, the power plays were 12-5 in favour of Buffalo. On three occasions, the Sabres had five-on-threes and went 4-for-12 on the power play with 16 shots, and had the Jets shaking their heads at the end of the night. Were they all good calls? No, but the Sabres have too much firepower to put yourself in that kind of penalty trouble. "We had to keep the game five-on-five," said coach Claude Noel, choosing not to comment on the officiating. "Weve been better in that area. There were two points there for us tonight and we shot ourselves in the foot." Goals 11 seconds apart tied it, only to have Tanner Glass regain the lead for the Jets. Glass had the Gordie Howe hat trick with a goal, an assist and a scrap. After five goals in 6:37, it looked like the trip would end as it began in Philly, with a high-scoring affair. And back and forth they went, the Jets never trailing. Little scored in the second, and Byfuglien in the third to round out the Jets scoring, but from the end of the second period when an Evander Kane penalty took the Jets off the power play to the end of the game, the Jets took six minor penalties with the Sabres ending it with a power play goal in overtime. Byfuglien picked up a 10-minute misconduct when the game was over, telling the officials what he thought of their performance. As for the road trip, collecting eight of 14 points is fine, especially when you take into account the injuries. No Ron Hainsey and Derek Meech to start the trip, then you lose Toby Enstrom, followed by Mark Stuart and Randy Jones. They lost Nik Antropov for a couple of games as well. Job well done by Ice Cap call-ups Mark Flood, Brett Festerling and Paul Postma. In goal, it was the Ondre Pavelec show as he played all but 8:27 of the whole trip. Chris Mason expects to be ready very soon. He was hurt in the Philly game to start the trip. Pavelec saw plenty of pucks and his save percentage after the Philly game was well over .900. The team did some good things on the trip, finding ways to get points being one of them but there is work to do with penalty killing being one of them. Not taking that many penalties is a good place to start. Bryan Little had seven shots on goal in Buffalo, Derek Roy had two for the Sabres. Paul Gaustad showed why he is the leagues best faceoff man, winning 15-of-20 and Jason Pominville won 12-of-14. Miller had lost his previous four, but has never lost five in a row. The lines (five-on-five) created lots of chances. Noel put Ladd, Little and Wheeler back togetgher, Kane and Burmistrov welcomed Antropov back, and for the first time this season other than when Slater was hurt, the GST line (Glass, Slater and Thorburn) has stayed together, but Kyle Wellwood replaced Thorburn on Tuesday. Next up for the Jets is home to Florida Thursday (TSN Jets, TSN 1290), before heading out to Columbus for a game on Saturday. Antonio Cromartie Black Jersey . The Basque club improved to four points better than fifth-place Villarreal in the duel for the last Champions League qualifying place. Celta should have come away with more from the high tempo game. Tyrann Mathieu Red Jersey . The Texas Rangers right-hander will probably reconsider now. Wolf pitched five strong innings for his first big league win in his first start in the majors, David Murphy and Adrian Beltre homered in a three-run first inning, and the Rangers avoided a sweep with a 3-1 victory against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. http://www.authenticcardinalsofficial.com/authentic-larry-fitzgerald-kids-jersey.html. Now he can be had by any team willing to pay his salary. According to a report from ESPN, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are shopping the veteran CB and plan on releasing him Wednesday if they cant find a trade partner. Rashad Johnson Red Jersey . The team said Bryce Harper and Adam LaRoche also had operations this week. Harper had the bursa in his left knee repaired after it had hampered him last season. Michael Floyd Black Jersey . Salamida, 29, has played the last four seasons with the Goldeyes. Returning to the team halfway through last season, he went 7-1 with a 2.BOSTON -- Reilly Smith is opening a lot of eyes and scoring a lot of goals. Smith scored two goals, and Tuukka Rask made 33 saves for his fourth shutout of the season to lift the Boston Bruins to a 5-0 rout of the Ottawa Senators on Friday night. "Hes a very talented player and he gets in front of the net. Its paying off for him right now," Bruins forward Brad Marchand said. When the Bruins traded Tyler Seguin in the off-season, they received Loui Eriksson, Smith, and two other prospects. Eriksson was the marquee player in the deal, but Smith has yielded the real return thus far. Eriksson has missed time because of two concussions. "I dont think he was looked upon as a throw-in," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "It is the first time he has been given the opportunity to play on a regular basis, and he is finally showcasing his skills. Its no fluke." Smith scored twice in the third period, giving him a team-leading 14 goals. He has five goals and two assists in the last three games. "Hes really taken that opportunity that hes been given, and is on a streak right now," Rask said. "When youre hot, youre hot, just keep shooting." Erikssons injuries opened the door for Smith to move from the third line to the second line, alongside Patrice Bergeron and Marchand, and find his groove. Smith also has 16 assists and is second on the team in points. The Bruins are 13-0-2 in their last 15 home games and have won eight straight in Boston. They havent lost there in regulation since Oct. 26. Rask (20-8-2) has allowed one goal or fewer in 15 of his 30 starts this season. After earning only 19 wins last season, he is now the third goalie with 20 NHL wins this season. Boston tied a club record, set in 1929, by having a player score two goals for the seventh straight game.dddddddddddd Smith has done it three times. Robin Lehner made 36 saves for Ottawa, which has dropped four of five. "We were really bad. End of story," Lehner said. "Twenty good minutes and 40 bad ones. Teams are picking us apart when we arent working hard and when we arent playing hard." Jarome Iginla beat Lehner with 3:31 remaining in the second when he slammed in a rebound of Torey Krugs slap shot during a power play to make it 1-0. Ottawa dominated the first period, holding a 15-5 shot advantage, but Boston turned the tables in the second with a 20-8 edge. In addition to the 19 saves in the second period, Lehner was stung by Johnny Boychuks slap shot, but stayed in the game. "We hung Robin out to dry," Senators captain Jason Spezza said. "One step forward and one step back. We need to start playing better hockey or they arent going to let us play much longer." David Krejci put Boston ahead 2-0 with a shot from the right circle 38 seconds into the third period. "In the third, getting that early goal by Krejci was a big momentum shift," Iginla said. Marchand capped the scoring with a short-handed goal with 27 seconds remaining. The teams will complete the home-and-home series on Saturday at Ottawa. NOTES: Bruins LW Daniel Paille returned after missing seven games because of a concussion. ... Ottawa is one of three teams that has never swept Boston in a season series. ... Boston D Dennis Seidenberg sustained a lower-body injury. He wont play on Saturday. ... Bergeron added two assists for Boston, which has outscored its last three opponents 15-3. cheap nfl jerseys ' ' '
