BERLIN Devin Mesoraco Jersey , June 6 (Xinhua) -- A 41-year-old Afghan man, who stabbed and killed a 5-year-old boy at a refugee center in Munich on Saturday, had previously been charged with arson and was imprisoned in 2008 after his deportation was denied, German newspaper Abendzeitung reported on Tuesday.
At the time of the attack on the 5-year-old boy, the perpetrator was electronically tagged and under supervision.
On Saturday Dave Concepcion Jersey , the man fatally injured the young boy by putting a knife to his throat and went after the mother of the child at a refugee center. The police subsequently shot him at the scene of the crime.
The federal government of Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, reported that the city of Munich had previously tried to deport the attacker after he set fire to an apartment he and his wife occupied in 2008. The man reportedly started the fire to avenge his cousin and restore his family name.
The city of Munich failed to deport the man because he successfully proved that he would become a target in his native Afghanistan due to his recent conversion to Christianity. The man instead carried out a six-year prison term and was released in 2015.
The police reported on Monday that the perpetrator was involved in an argument which had erupted in the refugee center, but the reasons for the attack are still not clear.
The Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann told radio station Bayerischer Rundfunk that this tragic event should mean a "new way of dealing with such cases." He also added that the German people should not have to "live with the danger of crossing such criminals."

DENVER, United States Chris Sabo Jersey , May 9 (Xinhua) -- Beneath unusually cloudy Colorado skies, the dramatic mass murder trial for James Holmes, who massacred a dozen people in a Colorado movie theater, ended its second week with more riveting testimony.
Friday's testimony centered on Holmes' apartment a few miles from the theater, that he had elaborately but ineffectively "booby- trapped" to create a diversion away from the surprise attack he unleashed at the Century 16 Theater in the Denver suburb of Aurora.
Kaitlyn Fonzi Brandon Finnegan Jersey , a University of Colorado Biology graduate student who lived beneath Holmes on the second floor of the quiet, three-story, 12-unit apartment, told jurors Friday that July 20, 2012 was a night she will never forget.
At around midnight Billy Hamilton Jersey , she was startled out of bed by "really, really" loud techno music with "booming bass sounds" that suddenly erupted from Holmes' apartment.
She remembered being "annoyed," going upstairs, and knocking on Holmes' door to ask him to turn down the music. When no one answered, Fonzi put her hand on the knob and almost pushed the door open.
But seeing the door ajar Barry Larkin Jersey , she had a "gut feeling" and retreated to her apartment below to call police.
Had Fonzi entered the apartment and touched a trip wire, she would have been triggered an explosion and been engulfed in the inferno staged by Holmes, according to FBI bomb experts.
Adams County Sheriff Shane Heiter, who helped dismantle the incendiary devices rigged by Holmes, testified Friday the carpet " sloshed" with gasoline when he later walked across Holmes' living room.

Bomb experts say the apartment building would have burned to the ground, creating a diversion planned by Holmes to draw rescue personnel away from the theater, thus maximizing the carnage he carefully planned.

Holmes was arrested without resistance by alert police responders shortly before 1 a.m., just minutes after unloading three weapons into the packed theater and walking calmly out of the back door.
He soon confessed his nearby apartment was rigged to explode Adam Duvall Jersey , and at shortly after 2 a.m., about 20 bomb squad and SWAT team members descended on the 1690 Paris Street brick apartment building.
Meanwhile, Fonzi called police gain to complain about the music, her second call replayed to jurors on Friday.

Adams County Bomb Squad Sergeant James Gerdeman then walked his 800-pound robot up the vacated building's stairs to the third floor.
