BISHKEK Asics Gel Lyte III Fresh Pack White Australia , July 20 ( Xinhua) -- Eight people were killed, three others injured after a major road accident occurred on the Bishkek-Osh highway in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Emergencies Ministry reported Thursday.

The accident occurred early morning at about 6 am of local time. According to preliminary data, MAN truck collided with two minivans.

The accident killed a five-year-old girl, four men and three women, the report said.

The Bishkek-Osh highway is the only highway linking north and south of the country. It passes through the mountain serpentines at an altitude of over 3,000 meters above sea level. The length of the road is about 650 km and the travel time is about 9-10 hours.

RABAT, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Local authorities said 83 were injured on Thursday when police dispersed a massive protest in the northeastern city of Al Hociema.

The police said later in a statement that 72 policemen and 11 protesters were injured after tear gas was fired to stop an "unauthorized" demonstration in the city.

Masked protesters attacked policemen by throwing stones, it noted.

Nasser Zefzafi, the jailed leader of the protest movement, called before his arrest in late May for a massive demonstration on July 20, the anniversary of a famous battle between the region and Spanish colonial forces in 1921.

The situation in Al Hoceima has been tense since October 2016, when fish vendor Mouhcine Fikri was crushed to death after climbing into a rubbish lorry to retrieve his swordfish confiscated by police.

The demands for justice for Fikri in the northeastern region has evolved into a major grassroots movement to require greater government investment to create more jobs.

Morocco has not witnessed any protests of this size since the pro-democracy demonstrations during the Arab spring in 2011.

BANJUL, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Visiting chairman of the English Football Association (EFA) joined a campaign organized by Gambia Tourism Board to encourage tourists to choose Gambia as one of their destinations in West Africa, officials told Xinhua on Thursday.

The campaign came amid Ebola outbreak that affects tourism in the region as a whole.

EFA chairman Greg Dyke, who is currently in Gambia, said he will spread to the world the good health status of Gambia as an "Ebola-free country where tourists and other visitors around the world can choose Gambia as their tourist destination since it is Ebola-free."

Gambia and majority of other West African nations have remained unaffected by Ebola, but due to some international media's negative reports, tourism in these Ebola-free countries have been seriously affected, according to tourism officials.

The EFA boss, who is making his first visit to the Gambia, described the nation as a "lovely and beautiful country that every visitor from England will enjoy (especially its) climate and in particular, the friendly and lovely people."

Dyke expressed his satisfaction with the quality of tourism facilities in the Gambia including the accommodation and the services. "We like the country's climate, the people are friendly more than those that we have met in the world and we have become friends of the Gambia," he said elatedly.

"It is a shame that because of Ebola disease virus in some parts of West Africa, such has impacted on Gambia tourism. There is the need to tell the world that the Gambia is fine to go because it is peaceful and an Ebola virus-free country," he said.
